Fabricated using a proprietary boule growth process, Crystal IS Inc.'s single-crystal native aluminum-nitride substrates can be produced with most customer-specified crystallographic orientations while retaining dislocation densities of <1000 cm-2. The 12-mm-diameter substrates exhibit high electrical resistivity and thermal conductivity and have well-defined cleavage planes. The company says that 50-mm-diameter substrates will be available soon.
