The PlaceMaster from ficonTec GmbH picks and places components such as fibers, lenses, optical filters and laser diode bars with typical X-Y-placement accuracy of ±5 µm. Developed for the automated assembly of components to a micro-optical bench, the system is equipped with automatically exchangeable grippers or vacuum tools and bonds components using soldering, laser welding and epoxy attachment. The iMAP software enables free programmable process sequences using machine vision, active alignment routines and measuring sequences. Applications include facet and surface inspection and cavity alignment of DPSS lasers.
