OPTICAL DESIGN SOFTWARE Code V version 9.3 from Optical Research Associates (ORA) has a new application programming interface that enables execution of commands from any application supporting the Windows COM architecture, such as Microsoft, Visual Basic, C++ or MatLab. It facilitates the creation of user-defined functions and simplifies data sharing with other programs. Other enhancements to modeling capabilities include the ability to apply diffractive properties to any substrate shape. Users now also have greater flexibility in specifying parameters such as coating characteristics, transmittance/reflectance properties and polarization effects.
