A precision laser marking system for plastics and synthetics, the VectorMark compact 6, or VMc6, launched by Trumpf Inc. features a frequency-tripled diode-pumped solid-state laser system that operates at 355 nm. This UV wavelength makes it suitable for marking electronic components where added pigment might change the material's dielectric properties. The company offers an assortment of lasers, from IR to UV, which mark with high contrast without the need for photosensitive pigments. The cold marking process uses minimal heat and avoids damage to the finished parts.
