Terahertz Technologies Inc. The C-995 microprocessor-controlled optical chopper produced by Terahertz Technologies Inc. provides chopping rates from 4 Hz to 5 kHz using direct digital synthesis. The compact system can be controlled from the front panel, which has a five-digit LED readout. A bidirectional RS-232 port enables users to remotely set the chopping rate to a resolution of 0.001 Hz and to read the status of the instrument. The device's phase-locked loop enables it to be synchronized to a user-supplied external clock, and the enclosed chopping head provides a wide range of chopping frequencies using only one blade. An adjustable mounting stand for the head is included.
