Coherent Inc. Coherent Inc. has released an upgraded controller for its laser spectrum analyzer system, which allows users to examine the details of the line spectra of CW lasers from 275 to 1625 nm. The controller incorporates a front-panel scan-voltage LED bar graph indicator, a 1X to 64X detector-gain-range selector, preset scan alignment selections for key wavelength bands and a centered sweep expansion function. The instrument is compatible with the company's model 240 and 216 analyzers and uses a 9-VDC input from a 100- to 240-VAC external power source.
