Hamamatsu Corp. Hamamatsu Corp. says that the small package, the high output current and the ease of use of its S9066/S9067 photo integrated circuits make them suitable for light-level measurement designs, including energy-saving sensors for televisions and light dimmers for liquid crystal displays. Operating over the 300- to 820-nm spectral range, they achieve peak sensitivity of 1.0 nA at 600 nm, without a visual compensation filter. They are designed with two active areas on a single chip: One detects light in the visible to the near-IR, and the other, sensitive only to the near-IR, corrects the output signal. Rise and fall times of the S9066 and S9067 are 6.0 and 2.5 ms, respectively.
