NP Photonics NP Photonics says that its optical performance monitoring module combines high accuracy with an industry-standard platform. Based on the company's compliant MEMS Fabry-Perot tunable filter, the device measures optical signal-to-noise ratio at 50 GHz to >25 dB with accuracy better than ±0.5 dB. It features an integrated wavelength calibrator that provides absolute wavelength accuracy of ±15 pm and a single detector that covers the C- and L-bands with resolution down to 2 pm. To facilitate integration, the module fits into a 220 X 110 X 32-mm package and has a dual-port RAM interface and a command set compatible with those used by major monitoring module suppliers.
