Scanlab AG Scanlab AG has expanded its family of powerScan laser scanners, which enable systems integrators to position multiple kilowatts of laser power onto a workpiece in a few milliseconds. The powerScan 50 processes at 2.7 rad/s and has a 50-mm aperture for small spot sizes and large image fields. Paired with the varioScan 60 dynamic focusing unit, it quickly focuses the beam within working volumes to process nonflat workpieces. The mirrors and optics are air-cooled; the scanners, electronics and focuser are water-cooled. The main electronics are located in a separate sealed base module and provide a digital interface and a power management system. Applications include processing of paper, textiles, foils and leather, as well as welding, cutting, drilling and perforating.
