The LC-R 2500 from HoloEye Photonics AG is a high-resolution plug-and-play spatial light modulator kit based on a reflective liquid-crystal-on-silicon microdisplay. It spatially modulates coherent and incoherent light in amplitude and phase, and is suitable for direct imaging, laser modulation, digital holography, diffractive optics, laser beam shaping and splitting, technical optics, structured illumination, pattern recognition and interferometry. The 1024 X 768-pixel device has a 72-Hz frame rate with a fill factor of 93%. The system includes a developer kit, an XGA device and proprietary software that runs on all Windows platforms. Features include 8-bit modulation, gamma correction, high-contrast amplitude modulation, phase modulation up to 2.5 π in the visible, diffraction efficiency of >70% and high reflectivity.
