Multiexponential Fluorescence Decay Fit Software
BERLIN, Germany, Dec. 9 -- PicoQuant has just released version 3.3 of the FluoFit multi-exponential fluorescence decay fitting software for PCs. The new release provides extended data import formats and many more general improvements. The software supports all current Windows platforms starting from Windows 95. Registered users of previous versions of FluoFit can get a free update. Additional licenses for the same user group can be obtained at a reduced price.
FluoFit implements an iterative reconvolution of the instrument response and the observed fluorescence decay with nonlinear error minimization based on the Levenberg-Marquardt and Simplex algorithms.

Instrument response function and decay background as well as time shift are included as fit parameters. Additionally, the parameters and options can be adjusted manually. The fit limits can be adjusted by graphical sliders. Reduced c2, residual and autocorrelation curves are shown for assessment of the goodness of fit.

For advanced error analysis, asymptotic standard rrrors and support plane analysis are provided, allowing rigorous error analysis and selection of meaningful models.

User preferences are widely adjustable and can be automatically stored and retrieved. The program features a modern and easy-to-use graphical user interface. Numerical and graphical results can be printed and saved for later reference.

The program supports data file import from various TCSPC systems as well as ASCII data files. Instrument response and fluorescence decay may be loaded from different sources. The software also allows import and processing of anisotropy data. This includes calculation of the anisotropy decay and estimation of the G-factor.
