Motorized Actuators The LTA-HL and LTA-HS actuators from Newport Corp. offer 7.4- and 35-nm resolution and 50- and 100-nm motion sensitivity, respectively, and feature a DC motor with a high-resolution encoder for precise closed-loop operation. They are suitable for use in benchtop optomechanical systems in R&D programs and in test and measurement applications. Functions include focusing and adjusting the position of laser beams, and automated optimization of laser cavity optics. A nonrotating drive shaft and user-adjustable limit switches ensure linearity and decrease wear. The HS model operates at up to 5 mm/s, and the HL is optimized for high-load applications.
