Lumics GmbH has unveiled the LU1064M150 laser module for sensing and ranging applications, including rangefinder and atmospheric lidar systems. It operates at 1064 nm, pulses at up to 1 W peak and comes in a cooled, low-profile, 14-pin butterfly package coupled with a high-index single-mode fiber. The thermoelectric cooler produces a maximum current of 1.8 A and maximum voltage of 3.2, and a fiber Bragg grating provides wavelength stabilization. Maximum operating current at pulsed condition is 1.5 A, with a forward voltage of ~1.8. Typical threshold current is 55 mA.
