Aerotech Inc. has announced the ALS1000 series linear motor stage, which provides a motion-guide bearing system, two-axis internal cable management and a high-performance brushless servomotor. The drive's nonmagnetic forcer coil delivers high force with no cogging for smooth velocity and position control. Suitable for industrial applications such as laser machining and medical component manufacturing, the device is protected against harsh environments. It has sealed motion guide bearings with integral wipers, and the metal way cover and tabletop are treated with a Teflon-based hard coating. An optional air-purge device creates positive internal pressure to prevent particulates from entering the stage.
