Frame Grabber A frame grabber unveiled by Cognex Corp. is designed for next-generation high-speed analog cameras that use progressive-scan CCD sensor technology. The MVS-8501 has a cost-effective single-channel architecture that supports up to four multiplexed cameras. It is backward-compatible with standard-speed analog interlaced and progressive-scan cameras, thus useful for automation engineers who are moving their PC-based machine vision systems to the 60-fps standard-resolution analog cameras. The frame grabber provides real-time transfer over the PCI bus to system memory for analysis. Images can be processed at the same time that others are being captured.
