Lumics GmbH has introduced the LU0975M017, a cooled laser module that delivers up to 1.7 W at 975 nm from a 100-µm multimode fiber that is terminated with a standard 2.5-mm-diameter ceramic ferrule. Housed in a 14-pin butterfly package, the assembly is Telcordia-compliant. Its TE cooler has a maximum of 2.4 A and of 3 V. Typical threshold current is 225 mA; operating current is 3.3 A; and low forward voltage is 3, maximum. It is designed for analytical, medical and sensing applications as well as for double-clad erbium-doped fiber amplifiers.
