For driving 980- and 1480-nm pump lasers, as well as high-power LEDs and superluminescent diode modules (SLDs), O/E Land Inc. has introduced a laser diode controller that measures 113 × 48 × 29 mm. A single 5-V power supply provides 500-mA drive current (1000 upon request) and 0.005 °C temperature stability. Operating temperature is from 0 to ~70 °C. An onboard DIP-14 connector facilitates mounting of an SLD module. Drive current limitation is available to protect the instrument. Typical output current accuracy is 0.02%, and typical stability is 0.5 mA at 250 mA.
