Power Technology Inc. says that its 440 ±10-nm laser diode module is four times more powerful than its predecessor and that it is suitable for OEM analytical applications and as a replacement for HeCd lasers. It produces 16 mW and is available with standard elliptical output or with a circularized beam. It operates in both constant current and automatic power control mode and comes with CW or modulated output. Other features are adjustable focus, quality glass optics and optional beam-expanding optics. Applications include fluorescence, spectroscopy, high-resolution printing, interferometry and microscopy.
