LASER-GRADE WINDOWS For diffraction-limited laser-based microscopy, intracavity laser applications, holography and multiphoton imaging, Newport Corp. has unveiled a line of low-distortion, low-scatter laser-grade windows with a surface flatness of λ/20 and scratch-dig of 10-5. Available in both BK 7 glass and UV-grade fused silica, they achieve parallelism of <30 arc sec. Diameters range from 1/2 to 2 in., and the windows come in thicknesses of 0.24 or 0.39 in. Intended for use in research laboratories and R&D programs, they also are suitable for OEM applications that require low wavefront distortion.
