For optical coherence tomography in ophthalmology and dermatology, as well as industrial and scientific applications, Femtolasers Produktions GmbH has launched the Integral OCT, a compact ultrabroadband coherent light source. Based on a low-threshold femtosecond oscillator powered by an integrated diode-pumped solid-state green laser, the turnkey system has a sealed cavity and a compact footprint. Output is coupled into a standard commercial single-mode fiber for ease of use and compatibility with other systems. All parameters are measured at the fiber output. The company says its proprietary dispersive mirror technology eliminates intracavity high-order dispersion and generates high-quality, near-Gaussian-shape >95-nm spectra from a low-pump-power Ti:sapphire oscillator.
