GREEN LASER Coherent Inc. has introduced the Verdi-V18 diode-pumped solid-state laser for high-power CW materials processing, for pumping mode-locked and CW Ti:sapphire and dye lasers, and for annealing processes, holography and scientific applications. The TEM00 green laser delivers >18 W of 532-nm output, and its single-frequency design produces optical noise of <0.04% rms, measured from 10 Hz to 1 GHz. The device is pumped by field-replaceable, aluminum-free active-area diode laser modules, and a closed-loop feedback system controls their precise emitted wavelength for long diode life.
