A stand-alone electronic device that controls up to four independently configured shutters and that has inputs for external synchronization has been offered by Ludl Electronic Products Ltd. The controller supports the company's 30-mm-diameter shutters, and a compatibility mode supports other available ones. Four front-panel toggle switches provide manual control, and shutter status is indicated on LEDs. For hands-free operation, a foot switch is available. The host computer is controlled by the RS-232 or the USB interface, or both. An enhanced macro interpreter creates advanced shutter sequences with conditional looping.
