CONVERSION SCREEN Electro Optical Components Inc. is offering conversion screens for UV radiation, from 300 to 370 nm, for short-pulsed lasers. Manufactured by Sara -- Advanced Solutions for Optics, the screens are based on a doped polymer film that is strongly luminescent when exposed to UV radiation. Luminescence lifetime of up to 0.5 ms makes it easy to see the radiation pattern. Power density is as high as 10,000 MW/cm2 (20 ps, 10 Hz, 355 nm). The screen is transparent, facilitating adjustment of the optical setup, and requires only a few milliwatts per square centimeter of CW power to illuminate.
