Photline Technologies has launched the MBC-LN series bias controllers for optimizing the performance of lithium-niobate Mach-Zehnder modulators, whose working points can exhibit slow drift caused by strong variations in external conditions. The controllers stabilize the working point via digital signal processing based on the fast Fourier transform principle that enables changing the dithering frequency of the tone signal to adapt to a variety of applications. The instruments are available as benchtop turnkey units and as OEM boards for integration into existing systems.
