Limo GmbH has enhanced its HLU series with a 90-W fiber-coupled laser that has a 200-µm fiber core diameter and a numerical aperture of 0.22. Based on a combination of beam-transformation and hybrid-optical-chip technology, the compact laser module measures 120 × 191 × 64 mm, enabling simple integration into existing systems. Applications for this laser include pumping of fiber lasers, materials microprocessing and direct marking. It can be operated with Peltier or industrial water cooling, extending its lifetime and eliminating the need for microchannel cooling.
