DISTRIBUTED FEEDBACK LASER Koheras AS has launched a high-power version of its Boostik single-frequency distributed feedback fiber laser. Producing up to 3 W of output, the 19-in. turnkey rack system offers selectable wavelengths between 1040 and 1130 nm and 1530 and 1560 nm, and can be tuned or stabilized by thermal control. Linewidth is <0 kHz. Options include fast piezo tuning with up to 10-kHz-modulation bandwidth, and polarization-maintaining output. The company says advantages include low phase noise, stable single longitudinal mode, and mode-hop- and maintenance-free operation. Laser cooling, atom trapping, spectroscopy and lidar are among the laser's applications.
