FLUORESCENT BACKLIGHTS StockerYale Inc. has launched its large-area ML series fluorescent light panels for machine vision, frame grabbing and process inspection. The backlights' two T5 fluorescent lamps provide 5000-K illumination and 7000 hours of uniform lighting, and are driven by electronic ballasts to yield 25-kHz flicker-free illumination. They have a 24-VDC adapter that accepts 100- to 240-VAC input, and are available with aperture sizes of 460 × 250 mm or 460 × 305 mm. They can be positioned on assembly lines or under conveyor belts for in-process inspection.
