Codixx AG has developed colorPol dichroic glass polarizers based on soda-lime display glass containing metallic silver nanoparticles. They are flat and thin like foils, with a standard thickness of between 200 and 400 µm, and can be processed like silicon wafers. They also are resistant to UV radiation and solvents at temperatures up to 400 °C. The standard version is available for the UV, the VIS and the near-IR. Contrast ratios range from 100,000:1 to 100:1. Applications include optical insulators and sensors, fiber gyroscopes, measurement equipment and light sources.
