O/E CONVERTER Terahertz Technologies Inc. has redesigned its optoelectronic converters to accept battery and external power supplies. The new TIA-525 comes with a 9-V lithium battery and a switching 120/220-V power supply, providing interchangeable plugs for use worldwide. The converter works with any oscilloscope that has a BNC input connector, and both silicon and InGaAs detectors are available. Bandwidth is 125 MHz, with selectable transimpedance ranges and postamplifier gains. The company says that low noise and high conversion gains ensure optimal performance.
