Optiwave Corp. has added features and functionality to its OptiBPM optical waveguide design software. Version 6.1's improved Mask Export provides more options for the export of the BPM layout into a .dxf file and enables users to implement design and manufacture work flows. A stand-alone 3D Mode Solver tool has been added, allowing users to select waveguides and to find modes for the refractive index distribution created by them. The software also enables batch processing and handling of nonlinear materials.
