BENCHTOP LASER MODULE NP Photonics has enhanced the benchtop version of its Scorpion erbium microfiber laser module. The system includes the Scorpion fiber laser and controller housed in a self-contained unit with front-panel controls and an LCD. It is half the size of its predecessor and costs less. Relative intensity noise suppression, power and wavelength tuning are controlled from the front panel or via an included RS-232 interface. All relevant parameters, including wavelength, are digitally displayed. The turnkey system provides up to 150 mW from 1530 to 1565 nm and from 1030 to 1080 nm. Mode stability is ±30 MHz/h, and spectral width is <1 kHz. Coherence is maintained over distances >100 km. Windows-compatible software is supplied.
