GRINDING SYSTEMS Lapmaster International has introduced its Melchiorre fine-grinding systems for flat finishing. Tolerance control to ±1 µm is achieved for part-to-part size, load-to-load size and parallelism, with flatness capabilities to one light band. Features include a rigid C-frame structure, a ball screw and load cell for down-pressure control, in-process gauging and an automated load/unload system. Conventional and superabrasive wheels are available. System diameters range from 500 to 1600 mm for grinding ferrous and nonferrous metals, ceramics, and tungsten and silicon carbides.
