The ChemusB2 series spectrophotometers manufactured by Ocean Optics Inc. are PC-based systems for chemical absorbance measurements. The UV-VIS systems comprise a spectrometer, a deuterium tungsten halogen light source, a 1-cm-sq cuvette holder and a 2048-element liner CCD-array detector that covers the 200- to 850-nm range and provides full spectral analysis within 3 ms at 1.0-nm optical resolution, FWHM. The VIS-NIR models cover 390 to 950 nm. The devices contain no moving parts and can measure a single wavelength or 2048 simultaneously. They plug into the USB port of any desktop or laptop PC.
