PUMP LASER Lumics GmbH has introduced the LU0975M004 laser that delivers up to 4 W from a multimode fiber. Housed in a cooled, low-profile 14-pin butterfly package coupled with a 100/125-µm multimode fiber that has a numerical aperture of 0.22, it is suitable for analytical and medical applications, industrial fiber lasers and double-clad erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. Typical operating current is 6.5 A, and maximum forward voltage is 3.2 V. The laser includes a TE cooler with a maximum current of 3.5 A and a maximum voltage of 1.5 V, and it has a typical threshold current of 245 mA.
