Special Optics Inc. has announced a line of large-output beam expanders with 100-mm diffraction-limited clear apertures. The four available models have expansion ratios of 53, 103, 203 and 403 and input apertures of 20, 10, 5 and 25 mm, respectively. They have a wavefront distortion of <λ/8 and transmission >92%, and can be customized for lower wavefront distortion, higher transmission and different expansions. The devices have an adjustable focus for collimation at various wavelengths and a usable spectral range of 400 to 1650 nm.
