RIGHT-ANGLE PRISMS Edmund Industrial Optics has released its high-tolerance Tech Spec fused silica right-angle prisms with 20-10 scratch-dig surface quality and surface accuracy of l/10. Angle tolerance is ±40 arc sec, pyramid tolerance is ±1 arc min, and dimensional tolerance of the thickness and face is ±0.10 mm. The prisms are used to turn light 90° in imaging systems. Suitable for use in laser applications, they are available in sizes from ~7 to 36 mm in the hypotenuse. They come off-the-shelf uncoated, or application-specific AR and mirror coatings can be applied to the faces and hypotenuse.
