COOLED CAMERA Sensovation AG has added the ultracoolSamBa HR-100 to its cool-SamBa series cameras for low-light-level imaging. The low-noise CCD camera is designed for high-sensitivity, high-resolution imaging at long exposure times. Its ability to cool to 2100 °C reduces the dark current, allowing long integration times to measure the weakest signals. Four-stage thermoelectric cooling is used to achieve the low temperature without the need for a cryostat or water circulator. The device incorporates a 1-megapixel, back-thinned, back-illuminated sensor.
