Dow Corning Corp. has announced its polymeric waveguide prototyping capability, offering customers a flexible and cost-effective approach to addressing optical interconnect needs for small- or large-area backplanes or boards in glass, FR4 and other substrates. The company offers standard prototyping for multimode waveguides up to 1 m long and 40 to 100 µm thick, with 0.04 dB/cm loss at 850 nm.
