100-W DIODE LASER ARRAY Cascades, a water-cooled, 1-cm diode laser array from nLight Corp., provides 100 W of CW output in the 790- to 815-nm range. It is suitable for next-generation diode-pumped solid-state lasers for commercial and defense applications. Based on a proprietary laser structure that has demonstrated more than 364 W of CW power from a single 1-cm diode laser bar, these arrays have <1.5-µm smile and produce high brightness when configured in either vertical or horizontal architectures. The Cascades line is an 80% fill-factor bar. The drive current and compliance voltage to achieve 100 W at room temperature is 115 A at 1.85 V. Spectral width is <3.0 nm, FWHM, and beam divergence is <36° 3 <10°, FWHM.
