PROGRESSIVE-SCAN CAMERAS Suitable for applications such as high-resolution and medical imaging, 11-megapixel progressive-scan cameras from Imperx Inc. incorporate a 4000 × 2672-pixel Kodak interline transfer CCD and operate at up to 5 fps. They feature programmable parameters and modes of operation for setting image resolution, frame rate, horizontal and vertical binning, and gain and offset. The user also can specify asynchronous external triggering with pre-exposure and capture duration, electronic shutter, long time integration, strobe input and gamma correction from 1.0 to 0.45. The cameras include a Camera Link interface with user-selectable 8, 10 or 12 bits per pixel, as well as asynchronous serial communication on a single cable.
