CROSS LASER Laser Components IG Inc. has introduced a laser diode module with a diffractive element attachment that produces a cross. Flexpoint is used with either circular or elliptical beam profiles. The diffractive cross optic can be attached, permanently or by plugging it in, producing a fan angle of 30°. The optics are optimized for 650 nm, and output ranges from 1 to 20 mW. Supply voltage is 5 VDC. The unit measures 11.5 mm in diameter and is 57 mm long. A miniature module that measures 20 × 10 mm also is available. Options include modulation, power adjustment via a potentiometer, and input voltage from 8 to 24 VDC. The module is suitable for measurement technology and edge cutting recognition.
