High-vacuum coating systems for optics applications are being offered by Pfeiffer Vacuum GmbH. Optical thin-film coatings such as antireflection types, optical filters, beamsplitters and laser mirrors can be produced. Six standard sizes, from small coaters for R&D to high-throughput production systems, are available. The company also will provide custom sizes. Turbo pumps and cryo or oil diffusion pumps are available to create a constant vacuum, and all systems can be equipped with a Meissner trap to reduce water vapor. Process equipment includes resistance and electron beam evaporators, ion-assisted deposition sources and sputter magnetrons.
