Semrock Inc. has announced an enhancement to its BrightLine dichroic beamsplitters. Beamsplitters reflect light in the fluorescence excitation band toward a sample and transmit light in the fluorescence emission band toward the detection system. The enhancement extends the transmission band, and the excitation filters associated with each dichroic can be matched with any emission filter having a passband within the extended dichroic transmission band. Applications include Förster resonance energy transfer and the measurement of fluorescence from fluorophores with widely separated absorption and emission peaks. The new version is compatible with previous BrightLine dichroic filters.
