Santec Corp. has announced its OVA-20M and OVA-30M miniature optical variable attenuators. They can be built into a variety of optical communication and measurement systems including WDM applications. They employ neutral density filters with high temperature stability and low wavelength dependence. The optical components are metal-bonded by a YAG laser to ensure long-term, high reliability. The units are compact and lightweight, and have an insertion loss of <1.5 dB.
