Fujikura Europe Ltd. has introduced FutureGuide-SR15 and -SR15E, optical fibers that have an allowable bending radius of 15 mm for spacesaving inside fiber-to-the-home equipment and other closures. The company says that the low bending loss of the SR15 provides a versatile solution for cable manufacturers, for telecom installation and for communications equipment. Manufactured using the VAD method, the SR15E is suitable for use in modules, terminating boxes and wiring within equipment. It has reduced water absorption and a usable wavelength region of 1285 to 1625 nm. Available in reel lengths of up to 50.4 km, the fiber is supplied in color or noncolor versions to meet user-specific requirements.
