Suitable for industrial Er/Yb codoped fiber lasers and Er-doped fiber amplifiers, the LU0975T040 laser module from Lumics GmbH delivers up to 4 W of output from a 100-to-125-µm multimode fiber. Incorporating fully automated active fiber alignment technology, the uncooled device has an operating current of 6.5 A, a maximum forward voltage of 3.2 V and a typical threshold current of 245 mA. The company says that it is ISO 9001-approved with several screening steps throughout the chip manufacturing and module assembly process.
