Lumera Laser GmbH has unveiled the Rapid picosecond Nd:YVO4 laser for applications such as micromachining, R&D, nonlinear optics, terahertz generation, picosecond spectroscopy, satellite ranging and material surface research. The diode-pumped device produces 10-ps pulses at repetition rates of up to 500 kHz, offers pulse energies of up to 40 µJ and features an M2 <1.2. Requiring only a single-phase electric supply for operation, laser functions are PC-controlled and accessible via an RS-232 interface. The 1064-nm laser is available with optional 532- and 355-nm harmonics and amplifier modules.
