DIODE LASER The Fiber Bundled Array (FBA) diode laser released by nLight Corp. delivers up to 30 W via a 1-m-long, armor-jacketed, 800-µm-diameter fiber bundle at wavelengths between 780 and 980 nm, and up to 10 W between 1435 and 1570 nm. Combining several FBAs into one SMA-905 connector increases the output. The numerical aperture is 0.12, and spectral width is <3 nm. Housed in a sealed, conduction-cooled package, the laser is supplied with a thermistor with 10,000 ohms at 25 °C. Options include user-specific bundle lengths and outer jacket materials, aiming-beam legs and transport fibers.
