DIODE LASER SYSTEMS Toptica Photonics AG's diode laser systems iPulse and iBeam are now available with a beam diameter of 1 mm (1/e2). It is no longer necessary to mount telescopes between the laser and an acousto-optic modulator to avoid transmission losses. Because of the smaller beam diameter, these diode lasers are a direct replacement for gas lasers and can be quickly exchanged in the field. They match the gas lasers in wavelength, power and beam diameter, eliminating drawbacks such as high power consumption, large size and high heat dissipation. They are available in wavelengths of 375, 405, 440, 473, 640, 660 and 675 nm, with others available upon request. The iPulse offers digital modulation up to 200 MHz and analog modulation in the kilohertz range.
