MICROANALYSIS SOFTWARE Ametek Edax has launched the next generation of its Genesis EDS microanalysis software. A new feature is the Element Detective, a tool that enables users to find and identify every element with a map. It generates data cubes from a map data set and performs data mining within the cube, examining each pixel to determine the intensity of each channel. When the maximum intensity spectrum has been determined, Element Detective builds a spectrum and overlays it against the summation spectrum. It offers materials scientists fast, one-button operation.
